Back to news list An evaluation of Cardiff’s proposition as an investment location, containing key statistics on every aspect of life in the capital has been compressed into a lean reference guide illustrating the many advantages of doing business in the city. The document, launched at a Cardiff Commercial Property Forum and Cardiff & Co reception was produced by Cardiff & Co’s recently appointed Head of Trade and Investment, Carys Pugh D’Auria with considerable input from Cardiff Council. Bill Savage, “Cardiff & Co’s Chairman said, “Cardiff has never been in better shape in terms of its offer as an investment location and there was plenty of evidence out there to support this claim – ranging from the significant investment in the city’s ICT infrastructure to our position as one of the best cities in western Europe in terms of favourable office occupancy costs. What we needed to do, as the organisation charged with promoting the capital, was to bring in all these facts and figures and create a contemporary and ‘friendly’ document that demonstrated simply and effectively why Cardiff is the obvious choice for business. The end product is the new investor guide, Cardiff the Capital Opportunity supported by the ‘Top Ten Reasons to Invest in Cardiff’.” He added, “The guides will be important in terms of taking the Cardiff proposition out to the ‘market’ and attracting inward investment. More importantly, they will hopefully assist key sectors across the cit-region in promoting and growing their business.” Speaking at the launch of the investor guide and addressing members of Cardiff’s Commercial Property Forum, Deputy Leader of Cardiff Council, Neil McEvoy said, “Cardiff & Co is an excellent example of public private partnership and what they have produced here will benefit key stakeholders across the city-region. The collaboration, in this instance with the city’s Commercial Property Forum will hopefully continue with others in the private sector that recognise the added value that the city’s marketing arm, Cardiff & Co can bring to their business.” Huw Thomas, Joint Managing Partner at King Sturge said, We are delighted to be working in partnership with Cardiff and Co in promoting the city as a business, sporting & cultural destination. From a business perspective, Cardiff offers significant advantages in terms of facilities, demographics, labour & property costs and transport infrastructure, when compared to other regional cities. Since its inception in 2004, The Cardiff Commercial Property Forum has strived to promote Cardiff on a national & international stage. We warmly welcome the increasing profile of Cardiff and Co and their new reference guide for occupiers and investors, provides a comprehensive checklist for decision - makers and facilities managers. The importance of Cardiff as the ‘engine room’ or driver of the Welsh economy cannot be overstated, particularly in the current business climate.” To find out more about these publications, including pdf versions available to download, click here.Capitals Compelling Proposition for Investors
