Back to news list

The prospect of returning home to Cardiff and his family proved irresistible for soccer sensation and Welsh captain, Craig Bellamy as he signed for the Bluebirds yesterday.

The move will be seen as something straight from the pages of ‘Roy of the Rovers’ with striker, Bellamy shunning advances from other Premier League clubs to return to his native city and the club that he has supported since he was a boy. The move has sent ripples through the world of football for all the right reasons as the player follows his heart and walks the talk all the way home to his city and family.  The Welsh captain was greeted by fans who had gathered in their hundreds outside the Cardiff City Stadium to welcome their new hero.  He expressed his delight at being home and his dream of helping the club achieve Premier League status.
