Sustainable transport at the heart of city development

Cardiff Bus is hosting a breakfast briefing on the city’s plans to build a sustainable travel city.

Right at the heart of transport plans for Cardiff are proposals for a new Central Business District in the heart of the city.

The development and completion of a bus priority hub and new bus station are important elements of the plans.

Cardiff Council is working with all bus operators in the region to ensure that economic growth is accompanied by a transport system that is sustainable and inclusive.

Cllr Joseph Carter, Chair of Cardiff Bus, will share details of the social, economic and environmental dividend to be won from sustainable transport, David Brown, the bus company’s Managing Director will look ahead to the next five years, while Cllr Lis Ford, Executive Member for Transport, will speak about the policy background to the proposals.

Cardiff Council Chief Executive Jon House will cover the new Central Business District.
