Cardiff Ambassadors Networking 2012 So Far..
Our Cardiff Ambassadors' programme started earlier this year on 28 February 2012 with an evening reception at The Royal Society with John Inverdale as the key-note speaker. For a sample of pictures of this event click here.
In his speech, John Inverdale touched on how important sporting events are in helping us raise the profile of the city. Here is a piece in Walesonline that captured the flavour of his speech.
The event also coincided with busy Welsh sporting weekend with Wales v England in Twickenham for the RBS 6 Nations and Cardiff City v Wembley, the very next day. It was a indeed, a memorable sporting themed week for Cardiff and for Wales.
Following on from London, we worked in partnership with BBC Wales in hosting a special event in conjunction with the opening of BBC Wales' Roath Lock Studios in Cardiff Bay on 12 March 2012. This BBC’s Roath Lock Studios opened in record time. In just 13 months, 175,000 square foot of HD-ready studios have been constructed and fitted out to provide a permanent, purpose-built home to flagship BBC dramas. This event was attended by over 100 guests who were treated with a special tour of the sets.
It has indeed been quite a busy few months as we stepped into 2012 and more Cardiff Ambassadors' events will be announced at a later date.
